2012 Week 5 NFL Picks: 5* Ravens -6

One play away from a perfect season, the Ravens, 6-2 ATS in their last eight games versus the AFC West, arrive in Kansas City to face a Chiefs team that is allowing over 30 points per game. Surprising in 2012 is a Ravens offense that is managing over 30 points per game on Flacco’s 8.13 yards per attempt that has been the key this year. With Cassel, 70.4 rating, powering only 5.6 yards per play, a Ravens defense that is allowing 295.8 yards per game will be too large a hill to climb in Kansas City. There is no question that Charles, 5.8 yards per rush, will try to break the Ravens rushing defense that is allowing only 94.5 rushing yards per game, to try to keep the Chiefs 6-2 record ATS in their last eight in October.

  1. LOSER>>Ravens 9 – CHIEFS 6>>(Sports Network) – It wasn’t pretty, but thanks to three field goals from Justin Tucker the Baltimore Ravens took a 9-6 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. Ray Rice carried the ball 17 times for 102 yards and added a 16-yard catch while Joe Flacco was a mediocre 13-for-27 with 187 yards and an interception for the Ravens (4-1), who have won three straight after dropping a game in Philadelphia. Anquan Boldin had four catches for 82 yards. Matt Cassel had a tough day, getting picked off twice and losing a fumble before leaving the game in the fourth quarter with a head injury for the Chiefs (1-4), who have dropped their past two after an overtime win against New Orleans. Jamaal Charles carried the ball 30 times for 140 yards in the loss.
